In a strategic initiative to bolster communities against the formidable challenges posed by climate change and disaster risks, SAFER Unit orchestrated a transformative field engagement in the scenic locale of Chanderwar, Chilika. The day kicked off with meticulous staff training, involving key coordinators and district personnel who actively participated in thematic discussions. These encompassed the profound effects of climate change and the indispensable role of Disaster Risk Reduction in safeguarding livelihoods. The knowledge dissemination extended beyond administrative circles, reaching dedicated field assistants who were equipped with tools for effective community outreach.
As the day progressed, the focus shifted to a comprehensive Farmers Workshop, where 22 eager participants delved into customized training tailored to their agricultural context. The workshop covered essential aspects of climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction, providing tangible insights for the local farming community. A shared snack break not only facilitated casual interaction but also fostered a sense of community among the participants. The day reached its pinnacle with a collective group picture, encapsulating the spirit of collaboration and empowerment.
